IFBB Professional Bodybuilder - Kevin Levrone
The most winningest bodybuilder ever!
Kevin Levrone is one of my favourite bodybuilders, ever. He's right up there with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dorian
Yates, Lee Priest, Tom Platz and Vince Taylor (to name a few of the best of the best!).
His mix of mass, symmetry, consistently good condition and the flat-out best most muscular pose ever helped him to
become the IFBB Professional with the most contest wins in history (a close run thing with Vince Taylor), although
he never quite won the most important and prestigous of all, the Mr. Olympia.

One of the un-crowned Mr. Olympias
Along with Lee Labrada, Shawn Ray and Flex Wheeler, Kevin is one of the "uncrowned Mr. Olympia's" - bodybuilders who many believe were unfairly placed behind incumbent Mr. Olympias who only won because they had won the previous year (in the history of the Mr. Olympia contest the defending champion has only lost three times - Sergio Oliva to Arnie in 1970, Samir Banout lost to Lee Haney in 1983 and Ronnie Coleman to Jay Cutler in 2006).Levrone came runner up to six time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates in both 1992 (his first ever Mr. Olympia) and in 1995. Kevin made a phenomenal entrance to the professional scene, winning or placing top three in his first seven IFBB pro shows. It was no suprise then that he came to the 1992 Olympia as both a rookie Pro (it was his first year as a IFBB professional) but also as a hot favourite.
Dorian Yates was entering the show having came second to seven times Mr. Olympia Lee Haney in 1991. Lee Haney retired after the 1991 show leaving Yates as the highest placed competitor from the year before, and thus the man to beat.
I remember being so excited about who would win - fellow Brit Dorian Yates or the all conquering, and awesomely built new-comer Kevin Levrone. Would Kev's insane triceps and most muscular pose beat Yates' monster back and freaky density? In the end the judges went with Yates but many many people still think that Levrone won it - he looked simply incredible from the front.
In 1995 (and onwards) Dorian Yates competed with a torn biceps and combined with his ever-thickening waist many felt that it should have been Levrone's year (again).
Why he was so good
Massive, enormous, insane triceps. Kevin Levrone had easily the best triceps ever. Combined with his almost as amazing deltoids and chest he had the best most-muscular pose in history. He had a fantastic set of legs and posed well, and always competed in shape (though in his later years his legs weren't as big and his conditioning deterioated a little).
